European Architectural Photography Prize architekturbild

Icon weißThe „architekturbild“ European Architectural Photography Prize, a competition first held in 1995, is among the most prestigious awards of its kind. Open to entries from around the world, it is held on a new theme every two years and has been organized since 2003 by architekturbild e.v. and since 2008 in partnership with the German Architecture Museum in Frankfurt (DAM). Since then, the awards ceremony and the exhibition of winning entries have been hosted by the DAM. The exhibition then tours Germany and abroad.

The best 28 entries to the competition are selected by an international and interdisciplinary jury of prominent experts. The jury awards one first prize worth 4,000 euros and two equal second prizes worth 1,000 euros each, plus three to five commendations. All 28 sets of pictures are published in a high-quality catalogue and shown in the exhibitions.

To take part in the competition, entries must consist of a series of exactly four pictures on the stated theme. The maximum size is 30 x 40 cm; panoramas may be up to 50 cm in length. The pictures should not be more than three years old. They will be judged as a series. The photographs submitted must be of a high technical quality.

An entry fee of 60 euros will be charged. The competition procedure is anonymous.

The prize is announced in the spring of even calendar years. Details of the competition are then made available for download here on the website. Should you wish to join our mailing list for updates, please send an email to: h.link@architekturbild-ev.de
